Illustration Friday - Tattoo

Here's today's illo friday dealeo... tattoo.
I sketched out a more full illustration concept, but I had waaaay too much work to do today so I only did half of it. I had to do like 80 bazillion illustrations for a client in the UK.

Here's the sketch-- I am hoping to add the girl eventually.
This is also a departure from my usual heavy black line technique. I thought I'd try to construct the whole thing in illustrator with the pen tool, etc, whereas I usually do a black line drawing on paper, and scan it and vectorize it (with Adobe Streamline) and edit and go from there.

blah blah ba blahblah blaaaaaah.
Good day sir.
I SAID, GOOD DAY!

Love your work! So expressive, yet really clean and elegant! I've also decided to use a blog as a 'virtual sketchbook' (coming soon). Look forward to seeing more of your work!

I've seen a number of guys near our Big University Campus who look like him, down to the slack affect.

Very nicely done!

He is soooo cute. OK, I know you are not supposed to say that in polite society as a compliment, but he looks so cute. Wearing heart on his sleeve …arm… Great illo! Can’t wait to see his girl in color!

I hope you get a chance to finish the girl in the sketch. She has a wonderful pose. Good job in capturing her movement.
